This from John Loch - dateline 1/25/01 8.25 pm:

This problem has been reported to, and acknowledged by the Chrises Espinosa
and Nebel. Basically, it's broke. And the RA scripting addition is obsolete
as of OS9.1.

In order to pass the status of an active RA configuration to Applescript,
you will need to point a digicam at the little winky lights on the front of
your modem (if external), save a picture to disk from it every 5 seconds or
so, then use a scriptable graphics app (eg, GraphicConverter) to read the
values of the pixels that correspond to the status lights.
