Thanks, Cal. Being that I've already used both Scripting tools, I still
prefer the browser control that Script Debugger has over the one that
Scripter has. It's more visually understandable to me. I've done much
more than just look at screenshots of both tools, I've tried them using
their time-limited trials. Being that I could not save in either tool,
I probably didn't test them as thoroughly as if I had full versions to
evaluate. However, the "feel" of Script Debugger is more in line with
what I expected.
I'm used to doing VB and VBscript, so the Script Debugger interface
feels more familiar to me. I'm certainly considering doing what a
fellow AppleScripter(Yosemite) suggested: buy SD AND ScriptBase. This
sounds like a very reasonable compromise and is likely what we'll do if
I don't design our own database.
I appreciate your efforts, but I've not been knocked over to the
Scripter side of the fence. I was searching not necessarily for specs
or benchmarks. What I was fishing for was personal experiences with
both or either scripting tools - things that a feature comparison
doesn't show you.
