You needn't create a script. If you have Toast, there's only three
things required to have a file autoplay upon insertion:
1) The end user's QuickTime settings must be set to enable CD-ROM
autoplay.
2) The name of your startup file on the CD must be 11 characters or less
(or an alias pointing to the file must be 11 characters or less).
3) You select the file (or its alias) as the startup file in Toast
before you burn it.
Barring the above (you cannot control whether the user keeps CD-ROM
turned on as its default), stay-open scripts can be utilized. However,
any half-way savvy user can quit a script as well as turn off autoplay.
P.S. I have instructions on how to set the autoplay file if you don't
have Toast. You will need a low-level disk editor, however, such as the
now-defunct Norton Disk Editor in order to manipulate boot blocks. I
just need some time to add links to my web site to link in these HTML
pages. If I receive some requests for this info, I'll take the time to
do this.
