I think Acrobat 5 is great BUT in my experience it's AppleScript sucks!
The dictionary is almost identical to v4 but so many pre-v5 scripts fail
completely. I got so frustrated I started to use JavaScript to do the work
and rely on the (single?) new addition to the dictionary "do script".
There is a command insertPages and the Acrobat JavaScript Guide is fairly
good. (I'm sure you don't really want the suggestion of "use JS not AS!").
The cynic in me would say that it looks so much like Adobe turning their
back on AppleScript in favor of JavaScript. I hope that's not the case and
would love to see an Acrobat 5.x with AppleScript that works as described.
In the mean time JS could be a way forward.
