Appleworks crashes SE

I have not scripted AW, so I did not use its dictionary. But I remember that when I upgraded to AS 1.6 and AW 6.1.2 I did manage to open AW dictionary. Today I crashed twice trying to open the said dictionary.
Did anybody else experience the same behaviour?
OS9.1AS1.6CLib1.3.1 G4.
