Script Editor 1.1 & raw event codes

  • Subject: Script Editor 1.1 & raw event codes

I ended up with a copy of SE 1.1 on my machine recently & it launched
when a script was double clicked. My first thought was perhaps that all
my osaxen had been eaten somehow, as I saw event codes all over the
script.

When I saw the codes for all the application calls, I realised something
else was happening though, which brings me here with some info & a
question:

On this system, running OS9.0.4 & AS 1.4, the old Script Editor gives me
a very simple way of getting any & all raw codes when I need to do so.
Others who need to do this may find it useful also.

The question is, am I likely to hurt (corrupt, damage, whatever) anything
by using the old SE for viewing code like this? I've had no crashes as a
result of doing it, but would rather know if this one of those foolhardy
things I just haven't been bitten by yet.

Cheers,

Richard Morton
