(OFF) An Apology...
Recently, I have posted several times about a project of mine, hoping to
elicit comment from other list members.
One member has written to tell me (in no uncertain terms) that what I was
doing was spamming the list. For those who feel the same way, I
genuinely apologise. I honestly hadn't realized that what I was doing
was offensive.
By way of explanation, I have been scripting in a near total vacuum. I
know a grand total of one person locally who even uses a Macintosh
computer. I have no army of beta testers, and no one to validate my work
or tell me that it's useless garbage. I have hoped that I could generate
enough interest (here and elsewhere) that someone could help me make such
an evaluation.
In process, I have indeed found people who were willing to make a cursory
judgment - but they are (also) busy professionals and had little time for
follow-up.
In short, I'm sorry if my posts have seemed self-serving or spam-like.
But I continue to hope someone might offer words of wisdom... as in "Give
It Up" or "Go For Broke".
I have to ask (respectfully) where one is supposed to go if one is
uncertain of the value of his own work?
I hesitate to allude to the project again for fear of...
Thanks Once More For Your Time.
