Hi,
I'm a newby with applescript and am wondering if via a script it is
possible to run a backup program when selecting shutdown, it should be
relatively easy?
I tried putting an alias into shutdown items, it runs ok, but then the
Mac doesn't shutdown by itself.
This is the scenario.
Multiple Mac users on an apple network
All have access to the Fileserver for Backing Up
We have a demo app which backs up accross the network called Synk, which
only backs up new or modified files.
The app stores username and password.
So I guess the script would do something like:
User clicks on Special -> Shutdown (user can now go home now knowing
Synk will backup the data and shut down the Mac automatically)
Open Backup app -> because of demo version, for now we need to click on
Agree button
It notices that the external source is not open and asks to mount disk,
need to click OK, one more click on OK to close Welcome message.
Then the app runs.
Once finished the Mac will continue to shut down.
If someone can try to script this for me I would VERY much appreciate it.
Thank you.
Regards,
Vladimir Tittl
