Paul,

I checked, and the only non-system-installed osax I have in my scripting
additions is Dialog Director's. (An excellent addition BTW)

The attachments that did have the same names got saved like so:

1) either MyPict.jpg and then MyPict.jpg 1

--or--

2) MyPict.jpg and then MyPict[1].jpg

Could it be a OE thing? However, for the sake of more "robustness" I have
used your excellent suggestion and went the file spec of the
file-to-be-created as string route. I used Graphic Converter to do some more
things with the files once saved, and it had a problem with the extra
characters in the extensions. This method makes that problem a moot point.

Thanks for your help,

Ken
