When I had a problem with backup in FileMaker timing out, I made FileMaker
ScriptMaker run the AppleScript for the erase and first copy batch then do a
SciptMaker pause step for a minute then do some more copying and another
pause and the last of my copying. I know that is round about and someone
else might give you a much better suggestion, but I thought I would throw my
two cents in just in case.
