Program Linking Freeze

Hi all,

I have been experiencing a recurring problem with program linking over
TCP/IP.

When one Mac (Mac A) attempts to connect to the Finder of another Mac
(Mac B), Mac A will completely freeze (can't force quit or move cursor)
until such time that Mac B is shutdown/restarted when Mac A will "come
back to life" and operate normally.

Interestingly, if both Macs are restarted, Mac A and Mac B can
communicate on the first time. Any subsequent attempts will freeze Mac A
(again until Mac B is restarted).

Attempts to link to Mac B from any other Mac will freeze that Mac as
described with Mac A.

Mac B can link to Mac A without any problem.

Mac B has been rebuilt to no avail. All Macs involve have a generic
configuration:

G3/G4 hardware
MacOS 9.1
AppleScript 1.6
Macs are all on the same subnet

Problem exists when Mac B is connected to by both IP address and DNS
name.

Any insight, help would be greatly appreciated.
