scripting icon's

Hi

I just joined the applescript list in order to search for the answer to a
similar question to the one I just noticed you (Axel) answered in today's
online archive.

This might be a stretch, but I am trying to create a picture out of icon
slices on the Director CD-ROM I'm working on. I have most of what I need
except I originally gave up trying to get the PICT data out of my files and
batched them out of photoshop to get the custom Icon to "set the icon of
file a to the icon of file b" so it would already be in the proper format.
But I just noticed that my files' icons have black borders added by
photoshop, so I need to get at the actual pict data.

I don't suppose there's anything like

set the icon of item "test" of folder "picture" to the PICT of file
"Macintosh HD:Picts"

Or is there another way of going about it?

Thanks very much in advance,
Mike
