could a script and Scripter have in common that might cause this?
It's possible I wrote the script in Scripter's environment

I have been unable to get my copy of Scripter (verrsion 2.2) to function on system 9.1; symptoms are sudden quits or freezeups. Conflict Catcher points to OSA Menu as a culprit, but I'm not sure. (It seems as if someone else would have had this happen before.) My Script Editor seems to work ok.

You may want to check 1) that you have the security modules in place (necessary for this versiohn of Applescript) and 2) your version of CarbonLib is 1.25 (reports of version 1.3 giving problems.) 3) try starting up with only Apple OSAX installed. 4) be sure you do NOT have the dialects folder or other folders in your Scripting Additions (freezes CarbonLib 1.31.) Probably others will mention these or other possibilities, but I figure I'll throw my 2 dinero in.

Hope this helps. Please write back if you fix things; we'll all learn, and be able to nod sagely.
