Scripting Network Preferences in MacOSX

Does anyone know how to script in Network Preferences
in MacOSX? I'm trying to write a script that automatically
sets up a user's PPP/Ethernet preferences, but I've found
no way of easily doing it. Any thoughts/suggestions?
