APIs.
See
http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/macosx/Carbon/CarbonSpecification/Location_Manager.
html for confirmation that the Location Manager APIs are not supported
in Carbon "due to limited developer adoption". As has been said there
is a limited Location capability in the Apple menu in Mac OS X, but it
does not use the Location Manager APIs. The Location Manager control
panel is not being ported to Mac OS X.
As part of our work in improving the scriptability of Mac OS X we will
be looking at adding scriptability for whatever Location capability is
provided, but since neither the control panel nor the API exist on X,
it's not likely that the solution on X will be compatible with existing
Location Manager scripts for 8 and 9.
