I seem to recall that Smile is designed to have no memory leak whatsoever.

Whatsoever, whatsoever ...
Our claim is that *except for leaks due to the OS or to AppleScript* Smile
is rather RAM-savvy. For instance it is designed to be able to open, edit
and close big files repeatedly for days without loosing one byte.
As for the problems in the Classic environment, the only benefit I can
imagine from Smile is that you can have it instantiate and delete scripts
on the fly. You can program so as to have your script deleted and
re-instantiated from time to time - maybe this will help.
Anyway, it would be very interesting to know exactly what is leaking.
MWZoneRanger, in addition to Smile's built-in "Free Memory" dialog, usually
helps. There are some known leaks (though I don't think we would be able to
find an exhaustive list somewhere), could you have unveiled a new one?
