Consider (or ask the gurus to consider) moving on to AppleScript 1.6, which
is the current version. This probably won't help THAT problem...it helps
some others.

Consider moving on the at least CarbonLib 1.2.5 (1.3 is current but gives
some people problems...not including me). This has a good chance of fixing
your Script Editor problems. A new CarbonLib came out the same day as Mac
OS 9.1 (newer than the one in 9.1, that is).

CarbonLib 1.4 should emerge soon, fixing those 1.3 problems which Apple
thinks are CarbonLib problems, not stale application code problems (and
perhaps some of the latter they can fix without breaking more modern code).
