It may not be that. If he just installed OS 9.1, that means AppleScript
1.5.5. If by any chance he removed Security extensions, then Standard
Additions won't work.
'activate' is part of Standard Additions. Any time you use RECORD in the
Finder, you get 'activate'. Furthermore, because novices start by recording,
they often think that every script has to have an 'activate' in it.
Larry,
1) Did you remove the security modules from Extensions folder?
2) Can you try RUN after removing all 'activate' and 'display dialog'
commands from some script you have? Does it work OK now?
3) Use Software Update control panel to download and install AppleScript
1.6. Now see if things work OK.
