Info for question

I've made an AppleScript that a few people are testing for me, for some people
including myself everything works perfectly but one user reports that an error
occur on this line

on utilLoadLib()
try
set u to info for pLibCodeName
on error msg
display dialog "Sorry, but I couldn't find Mvvtjelitt's code library ("
& msg & ")." buttons {"Quit"}
error -128
end try

pLibCodeName is a string with a full path name.

The error message the user gets is "Sorry, but I couldn't find Mvvtjelitt's code
library (Can't make Harriet:System Folder:Preferences:jem:Mvvtjelitt lib into an
item.)"

I don't understand why this happens, when I asked he said that he just had the
normal OSAX but that:

' ... the Standard Additions, whose info reads "Classic Compatibility
Environment 1.5," I presume for when I run OS X'

I don't have access to Mac OS X, only 9.1. I tried to find some info about any
changes to the "info for" command but didn't find anything that covered my
problem.

Does anyone knows what the problem is? (adding a 'file' after "info for" seems
to help but I would like to know why)
