It's nothing to do with OE. OE will do whatever you tell it, (except that
'content' of a draft window or outgoing message will always be a string -
plain text, never styled text). So if your 'body' variable has hard returns
in it, that's what you'll see; if it doesn't, you won't see any. The
inconsistencies you're seeing will be related to P, not OE.
If 'data of cell "EmailText" of current record' in FMP stops showing hard
returns after the first time you use 'as text', then it's likely something
peculiar to do with FMP.
Here's another possibility:
In a draft message in OE, line endings do not have returns. Only paragraphs
do. But once you send the message, the sent message, and the copy in your
Sent Items folder too, are now hard-wrapped at 76-80 characters. This is an
RFC standard for plain text email, although not all other email applications
follow it. OE does. Did you perhaps see the line-end returns only after
sending the message?
