There aren't enough fonts that do... especially not Apple's own
system fonts.

Well, Courier and Monaco seem ok, but Geneva bites. Also don't
recommend Charcoal. You should also add lowercase "o" to your test
(try it in Georgia and you'll see what I mean). Maybe Mishawaka?
Definitely Mishawaka - No problems recognising any of the above
(Eudora sets Mishawaka as the display font by default, and it looks
good, too.)
