They are pretty "random". There was a thread about this a couple of months ago and it flogged that topic to death. I ran tests on randoms from a specified range and after a few million random numbers having been generated within that range, the distribution statistics were in line with what theory predicts. So the answer is, they appear to be random. It would take longer runs to determine if there's any problem with the "randomness". I would not hesitate to use AppleScript's random numbers for most purposes.
