Why isn't there a constant called finder?

  • Subject: Why isn't there a constant called finder?

So many scripts have a block

tell application "finder"
--do something
end tell

Wouldn't it be nice if we could just type this?

tell the finder
--do something
end tell

Would it be hard for someone to write an osax that defines finder in that
manner? Would it be hard for Apple to incorporate it into Applescript
itself?
