finder under 10

  • Subject: finder under 10

hi,
Is there a way to compile scripts which refer to the finder while in
classic?

i.e., I am running X, but I am editing in Script Debugger under Classic.

the problem is that when I hit compile, the script hits the first Finder
block and says:
End of file error. -39

Any clues?

tim

PS:

<flame on>
My current working assumption is that a genuinely scriptable finder is many
months away, and, because I have dozens of scripts which have to run under
classic, I am in the process of stripping of all reference to the finder
(because is scripting is so f__ked).

My guess, then, is that others are doing the same, and therefore by the time
the scriptable finder is finished (hopefully not with the same abortive
scripting model as the "mail" app), no one will be running any finder
scripts? Pity Tanaka is compiled from Hypertalk, as I guess it will be slow
to come to X. Any news on Akua?
<flame off>

cheers
tim
