In that case, why display the string in its entirety? Seems to me there is
an abundance of space in this string, and that's why it won't fit in the
dialog box. Why not just display the stuff between the spaces?

For example, instead of displaying this:

# idx r brill rho
brill_m rho_m

How about displaying this:

Idx, r, brill, rho, brill_m, rho_m

Or even this:

Idx
R
Brill
Rho
brill_m
rho_m

(If you need help formatting the string into a displayable form, just ask
and someone here can help you get the results you need.)
