Carbon & Applescript 1.5.5

Hi all:

At least at my computer, using OS 8.6 and also 9.1, most of carbonized apps
i.e. Acrobat 5, GraphicConverter Carbon and, now, my new Script Editor
1.5.5 have a common characteristic: slow interface execution & getting
confused using shortcuts.
Command + Q (GraphicConverter). I must keystroke it two or three times
before it quits. Command + F (Acrobat 5)

These shortcuts and other, make menubar to blink (indefinitely).

I don't remember have read nothing about this point so, is it my machine?
I initialized (low level) my old 8.6 & installed 9.1, but the problem seems
to persist.

I can forgo Acrobat, GraphicC & OS itself, but I NEED MY SCRIPT EDITOR.

Does 1.6 fixes this bug or should I get out the SE & move to, i.e., Smile?

Critically,

JJ
