password and SSL problems with URL Access 2.2.1

  • Subject: password and SSL problems with URL Access 2.2.1

I'm trying to download a file via SSL using URL Access 2.2.1, and when I use a URL of the form

tell application "URL Access Scripting" to download "https://name:email@hidden/test.html"; to file "local.html"

I either get errors (sorry, my machine doesn't do that so I can't remember the number, something around -3200) or the local file is created with zero bytes.

If I change the protocol to http or I fetch a file not protected by name & password it works fine.

Any ideas on how to fetch a protected file via SSL?

Client: a number of G3 machines all running 9.1

Server: Webstar 4.x and Apache

Just BTW, using 10.0.3 it works fine with Webstar but with Apache it craps out with an error -3248. Since the customer's server is Apache, I'm stuck on that as well.

Help!
