I haven't dealt with writing records to file, but I believe it has the same
problem as writing data to a file "as list", which works in every OS version
I'v tried, except in OS 9.1 where AppleScript 1.5.x breaks it. The good news
is that this is fixed again in AS 1.6, the bad that that isn't released yet.
The workaround is to coerce your data to a string, write that to the file,
and do the oposite again when reading it.
