You might lose that bet Chris. The power of the TIDs, using anything at all
as a delimiter, has allowed me to create a database using only text files
which, when fully built, will have half a million fields (yes, I have tested
with dummy values to know it can handle this). For a working example, visit
http://www.fyhome.com/ecommerce/wallpaper/estimate.html
To test it, try these pattern numbers (it will make sense when you get there)
575682
SG27026
578543
Try to make all the other settings on the page garbage, and the "database"
script will provide the correct information (except if you enter a higher
than correct price, we'll take it). The technology is powered by the TIDs and
vanilla Applescript, with the data stored in text files (which can be
remotely edited via Applescript CGIs) which are dynamically loaded when the
script runs.
Please think very carefully before making any changes to the TIDs.
