I use the 'Die' osax to kill off open applications in our computer labs when
users 'log out' (I warn them that they will lose unsaved work). It is very
effective and will even deal with those applications that ignore 'quit'
commands (e.g. BBEdit Lite?). It seems to be equivalent to a force-quit.
