Simon,

Yes. The drive is directly connected to the mac running the script.

We have an agreement with a national body that allows us to store some
commercial material on disk as long as it is not connected to a network.
However, we also want to use the storage as part of a FMP/AS delivery system
(which works a treat). My thought was that having a script 'mount' the disk
prior to delivery and then on completion, 'put away' the disk so that it's
off-line.

There is no network issue here.
