Interesting Quote in today's MacWorld.com article on Acrobat 5...
"Adobe hasn't made that mistake this time. Acrobat 5 features only one tool
that's unique to Windows -- Convert to Adobe PDF, which works within
Microsoft Office applications to automatically convert documents. That tool
won't make it to the Mac because the Mac OS simply doesn't allow it, says
Adobe's Rick Armstrong. "
Considering that the VBA support is there in Office, and as we all know,
AppleScript allows you to connect apps together...maybe it's because Adobe
just doesn't think that being able to create perfect PDF versions of Word
files, including live links, and other structures wouldn9t be of interest to
Mac users? (BTW, neither Distiller, PrintToPDF, or any other type of
software does this on a Mac. All you can do is dump to a dead PDF file, and
recreate the links by hand)
This could be a feature that those of us working with workflow automation
that involves Word, PDF etc, *might* want to email Adobe about, and let them
know that a) it's not the OS's fault, and b) we do too need this feature.
