I agree 100%. However, I performed the speed comparisons OMM using the same file to read; with enough repeats to make the results more meaningful. I also performed multiple reps of the tests in no particular pattern, just to make certain that the state AppleScript was left in from the previous test was not an influence.

Given the changes I think I'm seeing in AS 1.6, should I file a bug report? I'm just back from an all day trip and haven't had a chance to look over what they *said was changed. If I can't find this behavior listed, I guess I should?
