I bet you have OS X installed. There is a package somewhere on the disk
(I can't recall where any more, unfortunately) that has (among other
things) applescript in ever language the Mac supports. The only way I
was able to get things to work right again was to stuff that package and
rebuild the desktop. then I could unstuff it.
