I am not familiar with AppleScript (yet!).

I am hoping to be able to use 'URL Access Scripting' to download files from
an ftp site.

I have the additional requirement that prior to each file being downloaded
its name should have ".bgn" (begin) appended and after the download the name
extension should be changed to ".end". If after download there has been some
problem with the file it's name on the ftp server should have ".prb"
(problem) appended.

Having had a quick look at 'AppleScript Guide Book' it appears that the
renaming of files on the ftp server is not possible using only 'URL Access
Scription'. Do I need to 'drive' another application (Fetch perhaps) to do
this or am I missing something?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Walter Harris.
