BBEdit will catalog a file hierarchy for you. Drag a finder folder or
disk icon onto a BBEdit window and voila! Is that what you were looking for
?

If not, investigate the 'walk folders' verb in the Jon's commands OSAX.
It makes folder hierarchy traversal pretty painless and fast.
