XML-RPC questions

Hi all!

I was looking into the freeware XML-RPC client from Late Night Software and it got me thinking. What is the easiest way for me to set up an XML-RPC server if the only programming experience I have is in AppleScript?

It would be really cool if someone were to write an XML-RPC server in AS, but it doesn't look there is one available. I could use program linking over IP for some of my distributed projects but can't afford to update all the computers involved to OS9. So I was thinking that based on my modest needs it would be awesome to have the ability to make remote calls using the XML-RPC protocol instead. If somebody were to write an XML-RPC server in AS then it should run on 8.6 and up.

As an interim solution I suppose I could use Outlook Express and run scripts based on filters to achieve what I need to without spending any money, but this seems pretty wasteful of resources and kinda kludgy. Does anybody have any suggestions?

- Dave
