Eudora's mailboxes are type TEXT even though they don't say so. They can be opened with any text editor but some may require changing the file type temporarily to TEXT.

With a bit of attention to leaving the beginnings and endings of messages alone, it's possible to edit as you like. When the mailbox is next seen by Eudora it will elicit a complaint about the index being out of date. Eudora will recreate it if you press the OK button.

The UNIX routine demime will operate on the text and do what you want. I believe the C source is available. MacPerl, or perl itself under MacOS neXt, has the capability you need.

Automatic scheduling of the work is a job for AppleScript which I have to leave for others.
