Scripting creation of Internet clippings

Has anyone come up with a more direct way of creating Internet Clipping files from a url string... I am currently playing with several messy methods, one which involves building the file from scratch, the other uses an existing Internet Clipping as a template.

Any more direct way? I had hope Akua's "save clipping" would intelligently create Internet Clippings like drag and drop does... I also tried using "save clipping" to create a text clipping of the URL and then edit the file to create an Internet Clipping. One of the problems is these methods all require the script to determine the proper clipping type as well, instead of intelligently deciding whether it is Web, email, FTP, etc.

Seems all a bit ugly to me... would be lovely to have soomething cleaner. What I've got works but I'm still not satisfied...

Anyone?

Thanks!
