is a free upgrade.

I fully agree about upgrading OS 8.5.1 to 8.6.

Now do you mind explaining what you consider to be unstable in OS 9.1 with
all the more recent Software Updates installed (including AppleScript1.6)?
Why do you think OS 8.6 is better than 9.1+?

Um, I didn't say 9.1 was unstable. My comment was worse than simply subjective, it was subjective *and* biased because I use 8.6 and have never upgraded to 9.x. Therefore I really can't offer anything directly in the way of stability comparisons. I live in the dark ages with loads of obscure legacy software, all of which still works in 8.6 with minimal problems.

Other lists I watch, in particular the webstar-talk list, is the source of my notion that others like me who have upgraded have seen some problems with 9.x, including 9.1; but again, this is with respect to a very particularized application (web serving) and perhaps not of much value to the average AS user.

Hoping for peace in the OS debate,

Richard Hartman
