Hi all,
I did a really stupid thing last week. I didn't bother to check the system requirements for XML tools and implemented a solution that relied upon it. Now I realize that I can't use it with OS8 and I am trying to decide what to do.
Does anybody have a simple XML parser written in AS that they would be willing to share?
Or ...
I guess I could shortcut this if I could figure out how to coerce a record to a string and then back to a record. Any suggestions?
Here's my scenario...
My company uses Eudora for e-mail and we need to keep everyone's address book up to date. I use my own address book as the master, which generates an XML document containing all of the information in my address book. This attachment is then sent out to staff. Upon receiving the e-mail they select an updater AppleScript from the Eudora OSA menu. This AS reads in the attachment, parses the XML text and then populates the client's address book with the new info.
Are there any better ways to handle this?
