hav tried all of suggestions. unresolved issue.
hav also tried:
Save a BNDL 1.4
with this i read:
AEH_odoc
no BNDLs processed
check that file has BNDL rsrc & BNDL bit set

i am understanding this as:
the author of "unwanted" app. did not bother to change type and
creator codes of application. since it was created later than
"wanted" app, it gets priority...
i am open to other suggestions as the app i seek to have open is
unscriptable and requires it be open direktly by an appropriate file.
