I might also add that there are very few AppleScripters who are performing
the kind of math where this sort of precision would even be considered
worthy of debate. And for those who are, one would assume that they are
already aware of issues related to rounding precision.
I refuse to use the "round as taught in school" command as a matter
of principle, on two fronts:
1) First, the non-American contributors to this list have made it clear
that the method used by the "as taught..." parameter is not taught
in all schools.
2) Second, it just seems silly to send an event to a scripting addition
when it can so easily be done with native math operators, regardless
of what method is choosen.
I don't know much about these math isusse, but I assume that Nigel
wouldn't lead me astray:
