Apple provides (on the CD which comes with the comp) an application which

maybe.
I had heard about such a thing but I've been unable to find it. My
newest machine is a 466 MHz G4 that came with OS 9.1. I Sherlocked its
install CD, looking for "CD" and "eject" and didn't find the app. I got
an e-mail from Takaaki Naganoya pointing me to the "AudioCDgh" OSAX
(available from osaxen.com) that has an "eject CD" command that opens
and closes the tray on B&W G3 machines and G4s. On earlier models it
will open but not close the tray.
