Launching AppleScript from CommandLine

Is it possible to Run an AppleScript from the Terminal Commandline or
unix type shell script?
This way I can use cron to schedule an AppleScript.
The 'open' command just opens the AppleScript but does not Run it,
which is not too useful.

Thanks,
