Whoops -- Robert caught me on this one. The ability to coerce
enumerations to strings was actually added in AppleScript 1.3.7, which
shipped in Mac OS 8.6. (Strictly speaking, it was in 1.3.5, but if I
remember right, we never shipped that version.)
