OSX - descriptor type mismatch

  • Subject: OSX - descriptor type mismatch

I tried to use a slightly modified version of the OS9 "Synchronize Folders" script under OSX, but it no longer works. I tried using both the Classic AppleScript, and the OSX AppleScript.

To rule out my modified script, I ran the original Apple-provided script, but I get the same error. When the script gets to the point of copying the files, it fails, with an error:

"A descriptor type mismatch occurred"

The applescript event log is thus:

"copy alias "SOHO Server:Operations:Scheduling:W42_10_15" to folder (alias "DSN Schedules:")
--> Finder got an error: A descriptor type mismatch occurred."

This error does not occur for local folders -- it seems to occur only for network volumes. I am attempting to sync folders on two different network-mounted (AFP) drives.
