I have set up something similar. Unlike Eudora, Powermail allows you to set
up filters that trigger scripts. Beware of a bug: it loads compiled scripts
into a sort of cache, so if you change the script, you need to quit Powermail
and launch it again, or it won't recognize the change. (The author of
Powermail is ware of this - I expect this will be fixed in a new version.)
Alternatively, I've seen something called "Albert" which claims to be made
just for this: triggering scripts through e-mail. But I haven't gotten around
to trying it yet. You can find it on <

I believe Barebones' "MailSmith" can also trigger scripts through filters.

Btw, you might want to set up some extra filters to make sure your script can
only triggered by authorized users.
