Have you got 'Tex-Edit Plus'? That has an 'available fonts' command in it's
scripting dictionary that returns every font in the font menu as a list of
strings.

And if you haven't got Tex-Edit Plus, you should have! 15 bucks for the best
scriptable text editor, bar none! And no pesky shareware notices while
you're trying it out. Download it now, but don't forget to pay, this is a
shareware gem to rank with GraphicConverter. (OK, I know BBEdit has it's
fans too...)
