Here's the script to close all popups -
tell application "Finder"
activate
set theWindows to every window whose popup is true
repeat with i in theWindows
set popup of i to false
close i
end repeat
end tell
These scripts are handy when you want to quickly clean up your desktop, but
not close anything.
